Information of the hotel vicinity

Yubatake
Yubatake is a facility where fresh hot spring water (approx. 55C) from the source of the hot spring located on the upper side flows through a wooden irrigation canal, is cooled to an ideal temperature, and then sent to the baths of each hotel in the area. The thick steam rising from the surface is a majestic sight seen only in Kusatsu.

Yumomi
Yumomi is a method devised to cool the hot spring water without thinning it down. Women churning the water while singing traditional Kusatsu-bushi is definitely a must-see.

Onsen quarter
Centered around the yubatake, the symbol of Kusatsu Onsen, are many tourist spots dispersed within walking distance. Footbaths beside the yubatake are always bustling with tourists.

Public baths
Located around the town of Kusatsu are 18 public baths that are managed by residents, and anyone can use them for free. The shapes of tubs, and the color and smell of the water all vary according to the bath. Enjoy visiting them all.

Sai-no-Kawara Park
Hot springs gush out all over Sai-no-Kawara Park, creating a river of hot water. Many differently shaped ponds are formed on a rocky stretch of lava, a desolate landscape of unusual beauty created by the hot springs. It is now beautifully maintained as a park and is a popular spot for taking a stroll.

Yugama of Shirane Mountain
Shirane Mountain is an active volcano belonging to the Nasu volcanic belt, with a height of 2,160 meters. Located on the mountaintop are three crater lakes; Yugama, with its majestic emerald green water, Mizugama and Karagama.
